Homes - Becoming a Habitat Homeowner

How do I Become a Habitat Partner Family?

Partner Family applicants must:

  • Attend an introductory Open Enrollment Orientation Session meeting
  • Complete a full application including a description of their current living situation and why they are seeking assistance from Habitat

We hand out applications only during Open Enrollment Orientation Session meetings.  Applicants must be first time homebuyers.

Applicants must display:

  • Need for adequate shelter
  • Willingness to partner with Habitat
  • Ability to pay a no-profit, no-interest mortgage

Those who move forward in the process will interview with our Family Selection and Support Committee.

The Committee evaluates:

  • The structural integrity of an applicant family's current dwelling
  • The size of their living quarters
  • Neighborhood safety
  • The applicant’s willingness to partner
  • If family income, credit and employment history falls within our program guidelines
