- Tool drives are held to collect new and used
hand tools, power tools, landscaping equipment and other tools.
- Many tools are placed directly into service
on our job sites. All other tools are sold through the ReStore,
providing income to support our mission to eliminate poverty housing.
- As the tool drive organizer,
you post materials and pictures about Greater Cleveland
Habitat for Humanity, promote the tool drive,
publish and distribute our "needs list”,
and provide barrels, bins or boxes for collecting
donations.
- The needs list provides
a “shopping list” for the folks who
will purchase one or several new tools to donate,
depending upon their means.
- At the same time, you encourage
folks to go through their workbench, tool kit,
and garage looking for duplicates, items they
haven’t used in years, and that perfectly
good power tool that has been collecting dust
ever since they got a newer, better version for
Christmas or Father’s Day!
- This is also a great opportunity
to put a departed loved one’s treasured
tool set back into good hands, for the benefit
of the community.
- Once the collecting is
completed, you arrange to transport the donations
to us at a pre-determined time, help unload the
materials into our intake garage, take lots of
pictures, and celebrate! For larger collections,
Habitat may be able to arrange a pickup. Contact
us by email: restore@clevelandrestore.org or call:
