Planned Giving

Designate a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a particular piece of property.
Your first step in considering a planned gift to Cleveland Habitat is to consult your financial advisor or estate attorney to determine which planned giving option is best for you. When you are ready to help ensure the financial vitality of Cleveland Habitat through a planned gift, please complete and return this simple one-page Declaration of Intent. A Cleveland Habitat representative will then contact you.
There are several ways to ensure a future charitable gift.
Bequest
A bequest in your Will allows you to make a generous contribution to a charity that you may not have been able to afford during your lifetime. The amount of your bequest is 100% deductible against your income in the year of your death and can be credited against income in the year prior to death, thus reducing your estate’s tax burden.
Should you decide to name Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity in your Will, the following is sample language:
“I give, devise and bequeath the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity (Tax ID# 31-1209423) with offices located at 2110 West 110th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44102, the sum of $______ to be used for_________.”
Life Insurance
When you donate a life insurance policy naming Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity as the beneficiary, you are providing a substantial future gift for Cleveland Habitat. Your regular premium payments made over several years can become a large financial contribution in the future!
Retirement Plans
Contributing the proceeds of a retirement fund provides you with an opportunity to make a significant gift to Cleveland Habitat, receive a donation receipt for the full value of the proceeds and use the resulting tax credits to offset taxes payable by your assets.
Gifts of Property
Outright gifts of property such as real estate, artwork or jewelry are accepted in-kind based on suitability.
Annuities
A charitable gift Annuity is a financially prudent way to support fighting poverty housing while taking care of your own financial needs.
