Host A Donation Drive
ReStore donation drives are excellent community service projects for businesses, schools, community organizations, city municipalities, civic associations, faith-based congregations, colleges and universities, and booster clubs.
Donation drives are an easy way to give back to the community while clearing out the clutter and keeping items out of landfills. When you donate to Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, your donations are sold at our two ReStore locations, giving them a second life and keeping them out of landfills. The funds generated from the sale of your donated items helps Habitat in its mission to build hope and revitalize communities through affordable homeownership, right here in Cleveland.
Who Can Give Back?
Businesses, schools, clubs, universities, faith-based congregations or neighborhood associations or other types of organizations can host a ReStore donation drive. There are opportunities for companies to sponsor a donation drive, which is a great way to build teamwork and get employees energized about helping local Clevelanders achieve the dream of home ownership.
Greater Cleveland Habitat works with many local colleges and universities that host donation drives. Also, campus organizations such as sororities, fraternities or student government associations can sponsor donation drives. City municipalities and country government often sponsor community recycle events, and Habitat works closely with them to ensure these events run smoothly.
What Kinds of Items Does Habitat for Humanity Accept?
We are looking for good quality furniture, used doors, windows, office fixtures, bathroom hardware, lighting, tile, new plumbing and piping hardware, lumber, exercise equipment, sinks, flooring materials and new and used appliances.
For a complete list of home furnishing items we do and do not accept, please see our donation guidelines.
Where Do the Items Go?
The items from the donation drive are taken to one of our ReStores. The ReStore is a home-improvement thrift store that is open to the public and is a self-sustaining funding source for Habitat for Humanity. Click to view our ReStore locations.
